After you’ve been in IM for a while, it’s only natural to get to know other marketers, or at least make some acquaintances along the way. If you get involved with joint ventures, then you’ll meet even more business people. Even though your goal is to make money, you can do this more effectively in the long run by being as giving and generous as possible when interacting with others. This doesn’t mean you should never make a profit, but you should also make sure you’re also focused on the needs of others. Those who provide services to others must be especially aware of this principle. It never hurts to be willing to share information and advice, even if you aren’t getting paid for it. The more positive and supportive you are of others, the more willing they will be to help you out when you need it.
